i am going to start eating a lot more beans, i've decided. they are cheap and wholesome. they are the best. i already eat a lot of soy beans, but they are usually processed into something like tofu. i want to eat straight up beans. i want to grow beans and eat em. i need some recipees. anybody have any?

louis armstrong liked his hometown beans and rice so much that he signed his letters

red beans and ricely yours,
louis

I eat a lot of beans and legumes as well. Costa Rican black beans and rice is delish and super easy to make. I also make Lentil soups quite a bit.

I will see if I can dig up some recipes for you. I usually just look up some recipe online and then wing it with whatever I happen to have on hand. =)

i've been eating hummus like i'm paid to do so lately. chick peas are beans (i think.)
i don't know why i'm even commenting on this i don't know anything about healthy food that i didn't make up when i picked something up off the shelf.

on wednesday this girl came over for dinner and wanted me to teach her how to eat healthy so she could lose weight. i thought that was just hysterical since i find my eating to be a comedy of errors.

i was like quinoa is really healthy. eat that. vegetables are good in salad. buy things that are fat free....
uhhh....
yup.

Mike & I will sometimes cook some beans up as our last meal right before bed...
Not the best idea ever, especially in an RV.

Rinse dry beans well.
Cover with water in a pot. Bring to a boil for a few minutes, then cover and set aside for at least an hour.
Drain. Rinse again.
Now cook.

It minimizes farts.

I make black beans, with garlic and onions and cumin and lots of chipotle pepper (canned, in adobo) on an almost weekly basis. = yum.

VT Maple syrup-ly yours,

You can substitute kidney beans for the pork. An amazing SW treat. :-)
